The multi-track compressed compiled sequence file format (QAC) allows you to save the entire contents of a sequence (including the audio part) in one single compact file. The audio part of the sequence is compressed using the Mpeg Layer 3 technology reducing dramatically the size of the file. Because of this reduced size, the files can be easily transmitted by the internet in order to share a project with remote musicians.

Sequences are not the only kind of files which can be created from Quartz AudioMaster for data exchange. Single tracks (Midi or Audio with contents and settings) can be saved in order to transmit small parts of a project whenever the sequence entire contents is not needed. For instance, imagine you want to have one of your song track to be recorded by a friend sax player living on the other side of the planet, you would, at first, send him the whole song in order for him to listen and record his performance and he would give you back his performance only sending you the recorded track that you would reintegrate in your song...
